Inside the supported area on and around the bridge. Unlock as you cross or from the quays; the view from the Eiffel Tower side of the river does not count.
Is there any ticket or timing for the bridge?
No. It is a public bridge, open around the clock, and the Unlocked unlock is free. River cruises under the arches are separate paid attractions.
Which direction should I photograph first?
Start toward Invalides in the morning so the sun is behind you; save the Grand Palais view for late afternoon. At blue hour, stay for the lampposts.
