How Unlocked works in New York.

Where can I use Unlocked in New York?

Manhattan, the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian span and Liberty Island. The Statue of Liberty requires arrival on the island; a distant harbor view is insufficient. The seven Landmarks are Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, Bethesda Terrace, Flatiron Building, Rockefeller Center. Each needs its own nearby location check.

When does Unlocked check my location?

A current location sample is checked when you choose Unlock at a supported Landmark. Continuous background tracking is not required.

Can I create the Memory after I leave?

Yes. A server-verified Landmark unlock is permanent. You can return to its Experiences later; venue admission and photography permissions are separate.

What does the welcome credit do?

Your first GPS-verified Landmark unlock grants one welcome credit for your first Memory. Collecting and sharing badges does not use credits.
