No. Every guide on this site — destination pages, photo spots, captions, and the journal — is open to read. An account is only needed in the app to keep your Passport and create Memories.

When you are physically at a supported Landmark, open it in the app and choose Unlock. The app takes one current location sample and the server confirms it is recent, reasonably accurate, and inside that Landmark’s supported area. Then the badge is yours.

No. Location is used at the moment you choose to unlock and never as a continuous background service. Unlocked does not record your route between places.

No. Visibility is not the location check. The supported unlock area is specific to each Landmark, and a distant photo or viewpoint does not establish arrival — the product is built around being there.

Make sure location permission is enabled for the app, move closer to the center of the Landmark area, and retry outdoors when possible. The check needs a current sample with reasonable accuracy, so a moment indoors or offline can be the cause.

No. Every Landmark unlock is free, including the badge and its saved visit date. The welcome credit that comes with your first GPS-verified unlock is a gift, not a charge.

You need to be at the Landmark when you unlock, but that is all. The unlock is permanent once verified, so you can choose the Experience and create any Memory later, even after the trip.

My World is the private home of your Passport: every badge you have earned, your visit dates, city-by-city progress, and any Memories you have created. It is visible only to you unless you choose to publish something.

No. Unlocked has no public feed, no follower counts, and no streak pressure. It is a Passport for your own travels, with sharing as a deliberate act rather than a default.

A Memory is a private, generated photograph of you at a Landmark you genuinely visited. You pick one of the Landmark’s curated Experiences after your visit, optionally add reference photos, and Unlocked creates the image. Memories are always labeled as generated.

Each Landmark has three curated photographic Experiences — fixed creative directions with names like Trocadéro Morning or Sea Temple Sunset. You choose an Experience after a verified visit; the choice sets the mood of the Memory, not a claim about where you stood.

One credit. Your first GPS-verified unlock grants a welcome credit that covers your first Memory. After that, credits are one-time in-app purchases — no subscription — with prices shown in your local currency in the store.

Reference photos help a Memory resemble its approved subject. You can add up to three and remove them any time in Profile. They are stored privately, never sold, never published, and never included in anything you share.

A permanently failed generation returns its credit to your balance automatically. Individual Memories can be deleted from their menu; deleting keeps the Landmark unlocked but does not return the credit.

No. Unlocked does not sell reference photos, does not perform facial recognition or create biometric embeddings, and does not publish a public gallery. Generated Memories and reference photos stay private unless you explicitly select them for sharing.

Yes. Unlocked is explicit that Memories are generated images, in the app and in anything you share from it. The Experiences are creative interpretations, not claims about photography.

In the app: remove individual reference photos or Memories from their menus, or choose Delete account and all data in Profile. There is also a public account deletion page with full instructions and support contact.

No. The Landmark unlock and its badge are permanent creation evidence and are not affected by deleting the Memory. The badge stays on your Passport; the generated image is removed.
