How Unlocked works in Kyoto.

Where can I use Unlocked in Kyoto?

Seven Kyoto landmarks from Higashiyama to Arashiyama and Fushimi. Nara, Osaka and private Gion lanes are outside the collection. The seven Landmarks are Kiyomizu-dera, Fushimi Inari Taisha, Kinkaku-ji, Togetsukyo Bridge, Yasaka Pagoda, Heian Jingu, Nijo Castle. Each needs its own nearby location check.

When does Unlocked check my location?

A current location sample is checked when you choose Unlock at a supported Landmark. Continuous background tracking is not required.

Can I create the Memory after I leave?

Yes. A server-verified Landmark unlock is permanent. You can return to its Experiences later; venue admission and photography permissions are separate.

What does the welcome credit do?

Your first GPS-verified Landmark unlock grants one welcome credit for your first Memory. Collecting and sharing badges does not use credits.
