The one optional extra
Credits, and what they make.
A Memory is a private, generated photo of you at a Landmark you truly visited — created from a curated Experience and an optional reference photo. It is the only thing in Unlocked that uses a credit.
One credit, one Memory.
Creating a Memory uses one credit. If a generation fails permanently, the credit is returned to your balance automatically. Deleting a Memory keeps its Landmark unlocked but does not return the credit.
Top-ups are one-time.
Extra credits are one-time purchases in the app, through the App Store or Google Play, in your local currency. No subscription, no auto-renewal, and prices are always shown before you buy.
Collecting and sharing badges never uses credits. Venue admission at the Landmarks themselves — tickets, entry fees — is always arranged with the venue and separate from Unlocked.

Is Unlocked really free?
The core of Unlocked is free and has no subscription: exploring the collection, verifying visits, collecting Landmark badges, keeping your Passport, and sharing cards, recaps, or a public Passport link. No payment method is required for any of it.
What uses a credit?
Exactly one thing: creating a photo Memory. Every Memory costs one credit, and your first GPS-verified Landmark unlock grants a welcome credit so your first Memory is covered.
How much do credits cost?
Additional credits are sold as one-time in-app purchases through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in your local currency at the point of purchase and vary by store and region, so the app is the source of truth for current pricing.
What happens if a Memory fails?
A permanently failed generation is designed to return its credit to your balance automatically. If a balance ever looks wrong, contact support with the email on your account.
Can I get a refund for a credit I spent?
Creating a Memory uses its credit by design — deleting the Memory afterwards does not return it, because the generation has happened. Store refunds for purchases follow the App Store or Google Play policies.
How do I restore credits on a new device?
Open the Credits screen while signed into the same Apple or Google account used for the original purchase. Unlocked reconciles eligible store transactions automatically; reach out to support if the balance does not update.
