No. The unlock happens on the public parvis and surroundings. Entering the cathedral is free under the cathedral’s own reservation system and completely optional.
Why does the unlock area feel strict around the cathedral?
Security cordons and event barriers adjust how close you can get. The supported area covers the permitted public ground; unlock from where visitors are allowed to stand.
What is the quietest time for photographs?
