The courtyards face east and the light arrives gently; midday glare flattens the stone, so morning and late afternoon flatter both temple and portrait.
This is an active temple of purification. Observe quietly from the side, dress in the required sarong, and never step into the pools or block worshippers for a frame.
Cameras are welcome in the outer courtyards; follow the posted restrictions near the springs and leave large bags behind.

Can I unlock Tirta Empul without entering the temple?
The supported area covers the temple site, and the unlock verifies your presence there. Entry, sarong, and any ritual participation follow the temple’s own customs and are optional.
Does Spring and Stone include the ritual bath?
No. Its name describes a generated creative direction of carved stone and flowing water. Ritual purification is a personal, on-site arrangement and is never part of an Experience.
What should I wear?
Temple dress applies to everyone: a sarong and sash, available at the entrance. Shoulders covered and respectful conduct carry the rest.
