Santorini by Car: Caldera Views to Lighthouse Dusk
Explore Santorini by car, with the caldera setting the scene at Oia’s castle ruins and the blue-domed Three Bells of Fira. Drive on island roads between every Landmark, continuing to hilltop Pyrgos, Ancient Thera’s ridge and Perissa’s dark volcanic shoreline before a planned dusk finale at Akrotiri Lighthouse. Oia Castle Viewpoint
Begin with a drive on island roads to Oia for the castle viewpoint. From the authorized viewing area, keep the whitewashed houses and caldera sea in one wide frame. The small viewpoint can be crowded: respect barriers, residents, private roofs and any access closures.

Drive on island roads from Oia to the Three Bells of Fira in Firostefani. Use the permitted public viewpoint to frame the bell arcade and blue dome above the caldera. This is not an Oia rooftop: respect worship, private land and posted boundaries, and never enter church roofs.

Drive on island roads from Firostefani to hilltop Pyrgos, then use public lanes through the fortified village toward the Venetian castle remains. Is this a walking track?
No. Every transfer between Landmarks is a drive on island roads. Walking is limited to individual visits, using permitted viewpoints, public lanes and designated paths. Expect uneven lanes and stairs at Pyrgos and an exposed ridge setting at Ancient Thera.
How do I confirm an Unlock at each Landmark?
Check the Landmark map and confirm your Unlock while nearby at each stop. A distant view does not establish arrival. Stay within permitted public areas and respect closures; swimming is not needed for an Unlock at Perissa Beach.
What should I check before planning the lighthouse finish?
Check Ancient Thera’s admission, opening and weather closures separately when planning the route. Treat dusk at the lighthouse as a planned finish, not a guarantee of access. Follow posted boundaries and use a permitted landward path away from cliff edges.
