Explore Rio de Janeiro using its cable car, cog train and transit links: begin with the morning ascent to Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado, ride down to Urca for the two-stage Sugarloaf cable car, then spend the afternoon along Copacabana and Ipanema’s beachfront. Continue to the royal palms of the Botanical Garden and finish at street level on the tiled Escadaria Selarón between Lapa and Santa Teresa. Christ the Redeemer
Start with the morning cog-train or authorized-van ascent through the Tijuca Forest to the Corcovado summit. Use the permitted terraces to frame Christ the Redeemer with the bay and city below, and do not climb the pedestal. Ticketing and queueing are separate from the visit.

Sugarloaf Mountain
Ride down to Urca for the two-stage cable car to the Sugarloaf summit. Use the permitted decks to frame the granite cone above Guanabara Bay and stay behind safety rails. This stop is the Sugarloaf summit, not Morro da Urca; cable-car tickets and operating hours are separate.

Copacabana Beach
Transit across to the Copacabana shore for the beach’s broad curve below Avenida Atlântica. Frame the wave-patterned promenade paving from the public walkway, then the surf lines from open sand. The beach and promenade are public; follow swim flags and keep the roadway out of frame.

Can I follow this route as a continuous walk?
No. The route uses the Corcovado cog train, the Sugarloaf cable car and metro, bus or ride-hail transfers between neighborhoods. Once you arrive, each stop is framed from public terraces, beaches, walkways, garden avenues and a public stairway.
Which stops need tickets or admission?
The Christ the Redeemer summit transport, the Sugarloaf cable car and the Botanical Garden each have their own tickets, hours and queues. Copacabana and Ipanema are public beaches and the Escadaria Selarón is a public street; none needs a ticket to visit.
How do I confirm an Unlock at each Landmark?
