Your hotel room can be a better place to choose a travel portrait than the spot where you want to enjoy the landmark. You can sit down, look through the available styles, and decide whether you want to make something. Nobody has to hold a pose or wait for you to finish.
That is a useful way to organize Unlocked: do the part that needs your presence during the visit, then leave the creative part for later.
Here is a suggested routine. It is an example of how to use the app, not a report of a particular traveler’s trip or a requirement to complete a Memory every evening.
Before leaving, know which step belongs at the landmark
Check that the place you plan to visit is supported in Unlocked. You can browse the app and explore destinations on the website. A place you recognize on a map is not necessarily a supported Landmark with Experiences to create.
At the landmark, choose Unlock while you are nearby. Allow the app to check your current location and wait for a successful result before leaving.
That confirmation matters. Walking past the place without completing an unlock does not automatically add it to your account. You cannot postpone this step until the hotel and use an earlier photograph as proof that you were there.
Once it succeeds, the unlock stays attached to your account. The on-site task is complete, and you can close the app.
During the visit, leave the creative choice open
You do not need to decide which Experience you want while standing at the landmark. Spend the time looking around, talking to your companion, or taking any ordinary photographs you feel like taking.
There is no need to stand in the position shown in an Experience preview. The later Memory is generated from a curated direction and your photo reference; the preview is a guide to the creative choice, not a pose you must reproduce during the unlock.
If an unplanned moment deserves an actual photograph, take it. You can keep that camera image alongside whatever you choose to create later.
Back at the hotel, choose one image you want
Open the landmark you unlocked and browse its available Experiences. An Experience is a curated photographic direction made for that place. Look at the preview and description, then choose one that appeals to you.
Provide a photo of yourself for the Memory. Review the credit cost before creating. If your balance is insufficient, review the credit purchase options in the app and decide whether you want to proceed.
Then choose to create the Memory. Generation takes place after your request; the landmark unlock by itself does not start producing pictures.
You can begin with one image. There is no reason to turn a relaxed evening into a task of trying everything available.
Keep the result for what it is
Your Memory is an AI-created interpretation associated with the landmark you visited. Look at the finished result and decide whether you like it. A preview helps communicate the direction, but the generated image is its own result.
Keep original travel photos when they preserve details you care about: the actual light, a passing expression, or what someone was wearing in a particular moment. A creative Memory serves a different purpose from those records.
If you share it, describe it as AI-created. You can also leave it in your collection without writing a caption or posting anything that evening.
Leave the next Memory for another day if you prefer
A successful landmark unlock does not require you to finish the creative process before checkout. You can return to the available Experiences later, including after you get home, and create additional Memories with credits.
This routine is meant to free the visit from image-making decisions. It should leave the evening free too. If dinner sounds better than choosing a portrait, close the app and go. The important step was the unlock you completed while you were there.
